How we look after your family’s privacy

Tiinyme is a play app for children aged 2 to 7, made by two mums. We don’t collect anything about your child.

Last updated [date it goes live].

The short version

  • The app collects nothing about your child. There’s no account, no name, no typing, no camera, no microphone, no location, no ads and no analytics.

  • Play is saved only on your device. The house your child built, their character and the dog they chose never leave your phone or tablet. We can’t see them.

  • We keep your email, and the answers you choose to send us while testing. We use them to write to you and to make Tiinyme better. We never sell them or use them for advertising.

  • You can ask us to delete anything we hold, at any time, and we’ll do it within 30 days.

For children, to read together

Tiinyme never asks for your name. Everything you make in Tiinyme stays on this phone, just for you. If anything ever asks you for your name, a photo or where you live, stop and show a grown-up.

The details

Who we are

Tiinyme is made by [legal name of the business and its registration number]. In this policy “we” means us. If you have a question about privacy, write to hello@tiinyme.com and one of us will answer.

The Tiinyme app

What it collects: nothing personal. Tiinyme doesn’t ask for or collect your child’s name, age, photo, voice, contacts or location. It has no sign-in and no account. It contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking code from anyone else, and it doesn’t use your device’s advertising identifier. Play is wordless, so there’s nothing for a child to type.

What it saves on your device. To pick up where your child left off, the app saves these things on the device itself, and only there:

  • the house and the things your child made or moved in it
  • how they dressed their character and Tiinyme
  • which dog they chose, and how many times they’ve picked each one, which the grown-ups’ corner shows you
  • the settings a grown-up chose, such as the age range, sound and calm mode

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. It stays until you delete the app (or, for the web version, clear the site’s data in your browser). If your phone backs itself up, these saves may be included in that backup, which is between you and Apple or Google.

The grown-ups’ corner. Anything meant for adults, including settings and any link that leaves the app, sits in a grown-ups’ corner. To open it you press and hold, then answer a sum written in words, which a young child can’t do by accident. There is nothing to buy in the app.

No internet needed. Tiinyme carries everything it needs, including its typefaces, so it makes no internet connections while your child plays.

Our website, emails and testing

Everything we hold comes from you, a grown-up, and only when you choose to send it.

Emails you send usTo reply to youOur email inbox

The notes sheet on our testing pages keeps what you write in your browser, on your phone. It’s never sent to us.

Please leave your child’s name out of anything you send us. If a name does reach us, we remove it.

Emails. We write to you ourselves, from hello@tiinyme.com. Our emails don’t track whether they were opened or which links were clicked. Reply to any of them and we’ll take you off the list.

No cookies, no tracking. Our website sets no cookies and has no analytics, advertising pixels or social media trackers. When you follow a link with a tag in it, the page remembers the tag in your browser until you close the tab, so it can be sent with your sign-up. Like every website, our host keeps short-lived server logs (internet address, browser type and the page asked for) to keep the site running and secure.

Who else is involved

We never sell or rent information, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers. We use a few services to run Tiinyme, and they handle information only to provide their service to us:

  • Netlify (United States) hosts our website and keeps our testers’ list and their answers.
  • Cloudflare (United States) runs our web address, tiinyme.com.
  • Google (United States) runs our email inbox, hello@tiinyme.com.
  • Apple and Google deliver the app through their stores, under their own privacy policies. They give us only the summary figures they give every app maker, such as the number of downloads, which don’t identify anyone.

Because these services are in the United States, your information may be stored there. We chose them because they protect it with strong security, and they are bound to use it only for us. We would also share information if the law required it.

Children

Tiinyme is made for children, so we hold ourselves to a higher standard than the law asks of most businesses. We follow the privacy laws that apply to us, and we’ve built Tiinyme to meet the rules Apple and Google set for apps made for children.

  • We collect only what we strictly need, and nothing at all from children directly.
  • Nothing a parent tells us about a child is used for marketing, profiling or anything a child wouldn’t expect.
  • If we ever find that a child has sent us information, we delete it.
  • We’ll never start collecting anything new about children without first explaining it here in plain words and asking a parent.

The same promises apply wherever you live.

How long we keep things
  • Your email stays until you ask us to remove it, which you can do by replying to any email from us.
  • Testing answers are kept until we’ve finished learning from this round of testing, and by 30 April 2027 at the latest we delete them or strip out anything that could identify you, keeping only general notes such as “several four-year-olds got stuck at the oven”.
  • Emails you send us are deleted once they’re no longer needed to help you.
Your choices

You can stop our emails any time by replying to one of them. You can also ask us, for yourself or on behalf of your child, to show you what we hold, correct it or delete it. Write to hello@tiinyme.com. We’ll reply within 30 days, and it never costs anything.

Keeping it safe

Only the small family team behind Tiinyme can see testers’ details and answers. Our accounts use strong passwords and two-step sign-in, and our website is served only over a secure connection. If something ever went wrong that could put your information at risk, we’d tell you and, where the law requires it, the privacy regulator.

Questions and complaints

Please write to us first at hello@tiinyme.com, and we’ll do our best to put it right. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can contact the privacy regulator where you live.

Changes

When we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect, we’ll email our testers before it takes effect, and we’ll never apply a change to information you’ve already sent without asking you.
